Kapakapanui is an isolated summit with its 1102 metre high peak providing great views of the Kapiti coast and Tararua ranges on a clear day.
Can be a challenging day or multi-day tramp, the full loop taking approximately 6 hours to complete.
The track is steep and muddy in places so some past tramping experience is required.
You do not get wet feet to get this cache, however, if continuing along the track, wet feet are to be expected as there are many unbridged river crossings before the track starts ascending. Do not attempt to cross if the river is in flood.
Always take appropriate gear when tramping, i.e. food, drink, clothing and footwear.
