Avonhurst, Saskatchewan is an unincorporated community in Saskatchewan located on the Canadian Pacific Railway line northeast of Regina, flourishing in the 1950's. It had 2 grain elevators: one was a pool and one a national. The elevators stood from 1933 - 1995. A general store, which also housed the post office, closed to move operations to the Co-op store. At that time, Doris Birchard took over as became post mistress in the new Co-op store and her husband Cecil Birchard managed the Co-op Store and fuel service from 1954-1986 until they both retired. Clayton Davis operated the fuel service in the 1950's. Once Doris retired, the post office was closed in 1988.
