Si sa che Pisa ha un rapporto particolare con le torri, alcune sono un po' storte, altre hanno avuto ospiti particolari, altre ancora una storia tormentata; se usciamo da Pisa troviamo torri a strapiombo e torri quasi complete. Con queste premesse, era chiaro che il simbolo della città in crescita non potevano che essere due nuove torri. Il cantiere del nuovo complesso "Parco delle Torri" fu aperto nel 2008, e nei primi anni furono realizzati gli scheletri delle due torri, progettate dagli architetti Marco Sereni e Jean-Pierre Buffi. Secondo le parole del costruttore, si sarebbero costruite “due torri residenziali che avranno la doppia valenza di polo di riferimento e di simbolo: alte 45 metri, dialogheranno, infatti, a distanza con la presenza monumentale Piazza dei Miracoli e della Torre pendente”. Nel 2012 cominciarono i problemi finanziari della ditta costruttrice, la Bulgarella, e i lavori si fermarono. Da allora gli scheletri delle torri sono lì, simbolo della crisi immobiliare, e ogni tanto salgono alla ribalta per fatti di cronaca. Il cantiere è recintato, non cercate di entrare dato che può essere pericoloso.

It is well known that Pisa has a special relation with its towers, some lean a bit, another hosted special guests, another had a difficult history; when we go outside the town we find towers on the mountain edge and almost completed towers. With this tradition, it was clear that the symbol of a gowing city could be nothing more than two new towers.
