Geocache Description:

Dick is quite often the unsung hero of the Famous Five even though he is kidnapped (rather than Richard Kent), is left with messages by escaped criminals and guesses the secret of Clopper the pantomime horse.

One school half term, the Five travelled by train to spend the unexpected long weekend hiking together. They had chosen the Somerset countryside for their hike, an area they hadn't explored before, and as usual Julian had taken charge of plotting their route on the map and finding several farms which had camping or bed and breakfast facilities (which also catered for Timmy too).

Their hike started off well, but on the second night they were caught in a thunder storm and had to shelter in a dilapidated cottage. Anne was tasked with setting up home for the night, while Julian and Dick cleared the weeds and twigs from nesting birds from the flagged stone floor ready for their beds. George and Timmy had been busy collecting rainwater so that they could have some hot cocoa before bed. Luckily they had plenty of food left over from their lunch and after supper, they all settled down for the night to sleep through the storm. Timmy, as usual, curled up on George's legs and kept one ear pricked for strange sounds outside.

The storm continued through the night, and Dick was woken by a huge rumble of thunder, which Timmy growled back at in equal measure. Having quietned Timmy, Dick rolled over and was ready to fall back to sleep when he noticed a piece of paper poking through one of the doors of the barn. Creeping from his sleeping bag, Dick grabbed the piece of paper and shone his torch on it. Utterly confused, Dick stared at the random words. What did they mean and who were they from? And if they could solve their meaning, where would it lead them? Dick decided to wait until morning before solving this mystery with the others.
