Geocache Description:

A tricky little cache and dash that may take beginners a little while but the seasoned cachers eye should tune into it quick enough. Access available 24/7 and there's room for 1 or 2 cars to pull in and park off the main road right beside the cache or alternatively at the local shops a few hundred meters away where there's traffic lights to cross over into the field. As always be carfull of the road etc.

This cache is at the begining of the closed section of the old Road.(they straightened the road avoiding the twists and turns of a typical Irish country road) It's still possible to walk down the road and if you do you will see how nature is reclaiming it slowly. The old Road has a sharp right hand bend in it about 150m up it and continues on approximately the same short length again till it reaches some old and picturesque cottages which are hidden away from day to day eyes. As you reach these nice little cottages you can see how they have retained access to the road network on the other side as the closed section ends. If you look closely you can find evidence of the old Road all around from road markings to road signs hidden in the bushes.This road used to lead to an old saw mill beside the cottages which is long gone. Please be carfull of mugglers retrieving the cache.
