Riverside Cemetery Scavenger Hunt
When: October 30th from 2-4 PM
Riverside Cemetery is a beautiful and historic site maintained by the Parks and Recreation department and the City of Asheville. Riverside Cemetery is open to the public everyday 7 AM to 8 PM from April 1st until October 31st. From November 1st until March 31st it is open 7 AM until 6 PM. As their website says, "It is a place of beauty - a place where you can walk, take photographs, paint and visit the grave sites of prominent writers..." The pathways run up and down hills and it is a popular exercise place for walkers, joggers and bikers.
During this scavenger hunt, what you will be finding and bringing back is information. This information will be about monuments in the cemetery and the people buried there. Please be respectful of the surroundings at all times.
Geocachers who attend a geocaching event or find a geocache between October 29–31 will unlock the Haunted Hides souvenir.
I also hope to have a couple of new cemetery caches in place to coincide with this event.
