Geocache Description:

This cache is part of the Auburn Geocaching Adventure 2016. If you're participating in the Adventure, be sure to record each cache's code word in your series passport to verify your visit.

   Welcome to Dick Scobee Field. It is the Auburn Municipal Airport at the North end of Auburn, Washington. It was named in honor of the late Dick Scobee, commander of the Space Shuttle Challenger.​ This area, where you are at offers you a great view of aircraft landing and taking off. Plus a small park to have a picnic. Access and parking for the cache are at the Auburn Park and Ride. 101 15th St. NE                                                                                                                                                           


2016 is the 125th anniversary of the incorporation of the City of Auburn, Washington. Auburn Parks, Arts and Recreation, auburntourism.com, and the WSGA are hosting the Auburn Geocaching Adventure 2016 - 20 caches placed in Auburn. The geocaches highlight some areas of historical significance, some parks, and some areas of general interest in Auburn. We hope you enjoy visiting the Auburn area, learning about its history and viewing its progress into the 21st Century.
