This cache site is within an old farm area. Just to the north is the old grain silo and to the South on the opposite side of the road is the perimeter foundation for some type of structure. The strand concrete trough structures are old livestock dipping vats. From the 1910's through the 1950's, these vats were filled with a pesticide solution for the control and eradication of the cattle fever tick. Farmers would drive their livestock through these vats to quickly treat the entire herd.
Take a bike ride on the wonderful bike paths around the park or a walk along the splendid walking trails and you will make some interesting discoveries. The cache is located in Callaway Gardens which is adjacent to Pine Mountain,Georgia.
NOTE: There is an admission charge to get into the gardens.
