Just right next the pabble beach at the Kamari port a remant of the ancient settlement, probably from the accient Roman times, can be found (see Interesting place). About 150 metres above it, in the inlands direction there is the Bazilica of Kamari – it can be reached from road (marked detour) and then take the dirth road back. According to some sources, this is the place of ancient Isthmioton, which superseded first capital on the insel of Kos – Astypalea in the mouintan pass Patia above the Kefalos bay (near cache GC5Z2A3 – Nice Place).
