The original final location was destroyed. A new location in the same area was placed on 6/4/25. If you have solved the coordinates before then, subtract 70 from the latitude and add 31 to the latitude. Otherwise, revisit the cemetery to redo the puzzle. Certitude and the puzzle description have been updated to reflect the new coordinates
This is a micro cache so no room for any swag. Bring your own writing implement.
A medium sized cemetery in Yates County. No night caching please. Do not upset or disturb any markers or headstones. You do not need to move or touch any of them to collect the information needed. Gentle respect for the occupants is expected. Please don't bring animals or allow small children to run about. If you have your children with you, by all means have them help collect the information you need and use this as a learning experience for them about proper cemetery behavior.
Here is a cemetery cache with a little work involved. You have to locate certain headstones and use the dates to calculate the final cache location. When you have a date such as 1/1/2016 add the zero in the day field to yield the needed number (e.g. 1012016).
Find the following markers and make note of the dates of death listed.
Head Southwest from the flagpole about 100 feet and find a Captain from WWII
Head downhill about 40 feet and find a PFC from WWII
Continue downhill and find another PFC from WEII. This one was awarded a purple heart.
Sum up the dates and subtract 20200934 to determine Latitude for the cache location
Downhill yet again for a sailor from WWII
Now head south and 40-50 feet you'll find Harold from the Army in WWII.
Not far from Harold is a lieutenant from the US navy in WWII
Sum up the dates and subtract 1739259 to determine Longitude for the cache location which is a short drive away.
