First Animals... Journey Through Time Traditional Cache

This cache is located inside Assiniboine Park Zoo and there is an entrance fee. Placing trackables is not recommended in this high muggle area. Summer hours: Open daily from 9:00 a.m. and gates close at 4:30 p.m. Winter hours: Open at 9:00 a.m.; gates close at 3:30 p.m. Please treat our plants and animals with respect. 

The zoo began in 1904 when the Parks Board was given the opportunity to purchase a number of native animals that were placed in the northwest corner of Assiniboine Park. These animals included deer, bison, and elk. This picture of the elk exhibit was taken in 1912. Elk can curently be found on the east side of the zoo just before Journey to Churchill. Make sure you say hello to our girls: Lily, Roxie, and Gaby who were all born in 2011.
