This is a traditional park and grab cache.
It is one of a series we are putting together that will form a driving experience around Apokoronas and focus mainly on some of the traditional villages in the area.
The hilltop village of Litsarda is home to a pretty church famed for its wooden carved icons made by a local artist. According to mythology, the name of the village comes from Lyssandra, an Amazon, who castrated her husbands if they cheated on her. The original location of the village was at Sykidia where the graveyard now is, but this settlement was destroyed by the Turks at the beginning of the 20th century.
