My last cache placement on this Mesa.
A $5 day use fee is required.
There are several other caches within the Park including four others on this Mesa.
Stop at the visitor center to pay fee and pick up a trail map. If the center is not open there should be trail maps outside the entrance door.
There is a very nice trail system in the park including a branch that goes to the Mesa top.
The trails are well developed and maintained.
Once on top it is level hiking. Great views all around. Take time to smell the "roses".
The hike from the trailhead to the top of the mesa is about 4 miles R/T on a reasonable trail. Once on top your going to be pretty much on your own. Actually a somewhat obscure trail skirts the Western flank of the Mesa terminating at a End of Trail sign. There are some cairns to help though just hiking along the Western rim will get you the GZ. If all else fails follow that pointy thing on your GPS, assuming you have the correct coordinates in the darn thing.
NEVER FORGET YOUR TREADING ACROSS A DESERT ENVIRONMENT WHERE MANY CREATURES MAKE THEIR HOME.
WESTERN DIAMONDBACK AND PRAIRY RATTLERS ARE FAIRLY COMMON.
ALL CRITTERS ARE PROTECTED IN THE PARK.
CONGRATS TO MR. WALDO FOR THE FTF!
