This was one of the caches I archived shortly after Yumitori's death in 2013. I was in poor health at the time and thought I would never be able to maintain this hide. After considerable hard work on mental and physical health, however, I was recently able to prove myself wrong! After a long bike, hike, and scramble, I was able to verify that the cache was still in place and in pristine condition. In fact, many of the original cache contents are still in the box. It was so touching to see his handwriting on the label and in the log book, that I decided to leave this cache in the wild as a wonderful and lasting tribute to my lost beloved, who was indeed "The Great Scot". He originally hid this cache on snow shoes, on January 27, 2003. What a crazy, intrepid guy he was!

Located on the way to Stuart Peak, on the edge of the Rattlesnake Wilderness Area, above 6000 feet.
With the amount of Scots blood in the family line, it was only natural to place an appropriate theme cache. The cache contains an assortment of typical trade goods, as well as a number of items fitting the theme. In addition, there's a couple of nicer ones for the first folks to find the cache.
Be aware that during the winter this cache becomes a 2/5. Until late spring searchers WILL need snowshoes, and should have gear and knowledge necessary for winter backcountry travel. It is, however, prefectly accessible year-round to those bold enough for the hunt.
