Once upon a time there was a geocacher who liked to host events. Let's call him pinkunicorn, since that happens to be his name. He stumbled upon a forum post asking for people to submit proposals for the next yearly iteration of Mega Sweden FAD. "That sounds like fun!" he thought and started planning. Step one was to talk to a couple of friends to make sure that at least a few more people thought such a project was a good idea. It turned out that all the people he talked to were not only positive about the project but also interested in helping. Thus, everything was lush and green, somewhat like this small park (assuming you are here during a suitable season for such things). He wrote up some planning for the event, thought about a budget and started looking for a suitable venue. While doing that, keep the park on your left and walk northwest until you reach a street. On your right, you now have a yellow building. The number of floors with balconies facing your way is A.
Having prebooked a suitable venue and cobbled together some kind of budget that actually made ends meet, he submitted this as a proposal. Then he waited for a decision. While you wait with him, start walking left along the street. Continue straight ahead across the first street and for an entire block more, until you see a new park across the street. On the corner of the building here is a sign reading "L. V. / B.C / s. v. / D.E"
One day, there came a message that his proposal had been chosen and he was now responsible for arranging a mega-event in a little over a year. That's a long time. There's a lot of planning that needs to be done as well, but much of it is pretty theoretical at this stage. While you ponder this turn of events, turn left and walk along the street. After a while, you come to a small parking lot on your left. Just on the corner of the yellow house on the far side of the parking lot (along the street) is a sign reading "SERV VENT / ANSL 50 / FG.H / I.J".
Pretty much a year ago (when this cache is published), last year's instance of Mega Sweden FAD took place and it was time to tell the world where this year's instance was to be held. Everyone held their breath, including all the people from Linköping. Many of them were pretty surprised when pinkunicorn stepped up and was presented as next year's organizer since he had only talked to a few people about these plans. Quite a few of the remaining people from Linköping (and a few other places) were also brought into the planning organization, which at this point consisted of 15-20 people. The various tasks (building caches, marketing, merchandising, vendors, associated events, and a whole slew of other things) were distributed among those who wanted to help, and planning went on in small groups or individually depending on the task, while pinkunicorn tried to keep track of the overall planning and make sure that no tasks were dropped on the floor entirely. After jotting down yet some more planning with him, continue ahead on the same street until you find a sturdy metal fence with large stone pillars, surrounding a small lawn. Count the number of stone pillars. The first digit of the number of pillars is K.
Having followed the stone-and-iron fence around the garden, you realize that the date for the mega is approaching. Rather fast, actually, and there are still a number of things that need to be done. Across the street is a white wooden fence with LA to the left and MAB to the right. Over the first door to the left (which is a couple of steps down) is a lamp N-sided lamp. On the right side of the street is house #5. It has a sign reading "NÖDSIGNAL FRÅN HISS RING 0200-2121OP. House #7 has a sign reading "NÖDSIGNAL FRÅN HISS RING 013-102QRS. Right across the street from this building is another building with a sign reading "FASTIGHETEN BOFINKEN 4 BYGGNADSÅR 19T3-19UV". A little further down the street is a pole with a small red sign reading W.X. Yet a little further on, to the left, is a bent metal ventilation pipe and then a metal cabinet with a sign reading "544ABYZ".
Let's stop here for a while. Like pinkunicorn, you have now whizzed around collecting information in the hope that it will be useful for your future planning. Like him, you probably didn't have a complete vision of what you needed from the start and thus did some extra work that turned out to not be necessary, but hopefully it doesn't hurt either.
