This is a mystery cache, THERE IS NO CACHE AT THE POSTED COORDINATES. Repeat - there is no cache at the posted coordinates.
This is my first attempt at art, I hope you enjoy it. This is #3 of the series. The others will follow over the next couple weeks and will take you to many out of the way corners of Shandaken
It is up to you , the geocache hunter, to decide to wait for the whole series or go for each as they get published. Can you guess the art will be?
When I was in Boy Scouts, our Scoutmaster made sure we all knew the following code. I still remember it although some of his mnemonics, like to remember P think of a Packard with a wheel, 2 running boards and a wheel, are somewhat outdated now.
To get the coords you'll need to translate the following message:
-. / ..-. --- .-. - -.-- - .-- --- / --.. . .-. --- / . .. --. .... - / .--. --- .. -. - / - .... .-. . . / -. .. -. . / ..-. --- ..- .-.
.-- / ... . ...- . -. - -.-- ..-. --- ..- .-. / -. .. -. . - . . -. / .--. --- .. -. - / . .. --. .... - / ..-. --- ..- .-. / - .-- ---
I have rated the difficulty a 2.5 due to being a puzzle cache, the code and the final hide. I would be willing to alter that based on feedback if folks think it is unfair. Also, I rated the terrain a 1.5 due to the hide final resting spot.
Parking is at the end of the road. Look for the two NYS STATE Forest signs. In the old days this road used to continue up and over the mountain. Now it ends at State Land. Look sharp and you will see the signs and start of the trail behind them.
Please bring a pen and extraction tool (although you shouldn't need one here)! No sign, no logging! Good Luck and Cache On!
