Nyctophilia- love of darkness or night. Finding relaxation or comfort in the darkness.
This is a night cache located at Camp Beechwood, a former Girl Scout Camp along the shore of Lake Ontario. The photo on the cache page shows the tent cabins which are still in the park. You'll have to see for yourself what the camp looks like at night.
**** You should plan to look for this night cache after dark and you will need a flashlight or headlamp.*** From the starting coordinates, look for round white fire tacks in the trees along the trail. Make sure you are following the white firetacks, as there is another night cache nearby that uses a different style of firetack. Follow the fire tacks to the final location. Two firetacks indicate a turn, and three firetacks signal the final location. You will stay on the trail until you reach GZ, and the final is not far from the trail. The trail is a bit overgrown in spots so be prepared. The final container is a 30 cal ammo can and is stocked with glow in the dark items. The FTF prize is an unactivated glow in the dark Firefly travel bug. If you continue down the trail you will arrive at an overlook with a scenic view of Lake Ontario.
Permission for this night cache was obtained from the Sodus Town Board and caretaker Trevor. Permit# 001.
