Monumento al Deportato
Il Monumento al Deportato è un'opera scultorea del 1998 progettata da Lodovico Barbiano di Belgiojoso, ex deportato, e dell'architetto Alberico Barbiano di Belgiojoso, suo figlio.
Si trova in cima a una collinetta composta dalle macerie delle fonderie della Breda, in particolare della IV Sezione Siderurgica.
Il monumento è dedicato ai cittadini che lavoravano nelle fabbriche dell'area industriale di Sesto San Giovanni, arrestati e deportati nei campi di concentramento nazisti, a seguito degli scioperi del marzo 1944, ma anche per attività antifascista, per azioni partigiane, o semplicemente a seguito di rastrellamenti.

Il cache è in prossimità del Monumento.
Per rispetto ai deportati, visto che in prossimità sono raccolte le pietre di due importanti Campi di Concentramento (Gusen e di Mauthausen) la cache dorme li con loro e con i loro pensieri coperta da una pietra che ho portato dal Monte Sinai.

Salendo le gradinate lo scultore vuole ricordare l'ultimo viaggio che i deportati di Mauthausen facevano uscendo dal campo.
I nazisti SS infatti li facevano salire sopra una collinetta da una rampa di scale e poi mettendoli in fila costringevano un prigioniero a spingere quello precedente già dalla rupe direttamente su un piccolo laghetto.
Ho visto il posto anni fa in una visita in giro per l'Austria e posso assicurare tutti che questa piccola area ha un significato che vale la visita.
Ogni volta che passo di corsa e salgo i gradini mi viene un nodo alla  gola.

The Monument to the Deported is a sculptural work of 1998 designed by Lodovico Barbiano of Belgiojoso, formerly deported, and by architect Alberico Barbiano of Belgiojoso, his son.

The cache is near the Monument.
Compared to the deportees, as the stones of two major concentration camps (Gusen and Mauthausen) are collected in close proximity, the cache sleeps with them and their thoughts covered by a stone I brought from Mount Sinai.

Going up the stairs, the sculptor wants to remember the last trip that Mauthausen deported from leaving the camp.
The SS Nazis made them climb up a hillside from a ramp of stairs and then putting them in a row forced a prisoner to push that earlier by the cliff directly into a small pond.
I saw the place years ago on a tour around Austria and I can assure everyone that this small area has meaning worth visiting.
Every time I step up and climb the steps I get a knot in my throat.
