 La pista di Bresso

La nascita dell'aeroporto risale agli anni della prima guerra mondiale, quando la vicina fabbrica della Società Italiana Ernesto Breda per Costruzioni Meccaniche allargò le sue produzioni al settore degli aerei militari, sviluppando la necessità di una vicina pista di collaudo.
Durante le due guerre l'aeroporto costituì il principale centro di difesa aerea dell'area milanese.
L'aeroporto assunse un'importanza strategica nel primo dopoguerra, quando venne usato dalla Regia Aeronautica come sede di una scuola di volo militare e di tre stormi di aerei da caccia incaricati della difesa aerea di Milano.
Già dal 1917 iniziò anche il suo utilizzo civile nel campo degli aerei da turismo, e nel 1960 vi si trasferì l'Aero Club di Milano;[2] esso ospita una scuola di volo che offre corsi per conseguire differenti licenze di pilotaggio. Nel settore sud dell'aeroporto la Breda costruì anche una galleria del vento per il test dei suoi velivoli. L'uso dell'aeroporto da parte dell'Aviazione dell'Esercito terminò nel 1998 con il trasferimento dell'ultima squadriglia di elicotteri.[1] del 3º Reggimento Cavalleria dell'Aria "Aldebaran".
Nell'eliporto all'interno della struttura vi sono anche una scuola di volo elicotteristico ed una base operativa dell'elisoccorso dell'AREU.
Il 3 giugno 2012, in occasione del VII incontro mondiale delle famiglie (promosso dalla Chiesa Cattolica) è divenuto sede della Santa Messa presieduta da papa Benedetto XVI alla presenza di 1 milione di fedeli.
La pista dell'aeroporto ha una lunghezza di 1 080 m per una larghezza di 30; inizialmente la sua superficie era in erba, ma è stata asfaltata nel 1965 a cura dell'Aero Club.

il cache è in prossimità della pista in una posizione dove è possibile apprezzare l’arrivo degli aerei che intendono atterrare ed è accolta da un tenero alberello.

The birth of the airport dates back to the years of World War I, when the nearby factory of the Italian Society Ernesto Breda for Mechanical Buildings expanded its production to the military aircraft industry, developing the need for a near test track.

During the two wars, the airport was the main air defense center in the Milan area.
The airport assumed a strategic importance in the post-war period when it was used by the Air Force as the seat of a military flight school and three flocks of hunting aircrafts in charge of Milan's air defense.
Already since 1917 he began his civil use in the field of tourist aircraft, and in 1960 moved to the Aero Club in Milan; [2] he hosts a flying school that offers courses to achieve different pilot licenses. In the southern sector of the airport, Breda also built a wind tunnel for testing its aircraft. The use of the airport by the Army Air Force terminated in 1998 with the transfer of the last helicopter squadron. [1] Of the 3rd Regiment of the Cavalry of the Air "Aldebaran".
There is also a helicopter flying school in the heliport inside the facility and an operating base for the ART's helicopter.
On 3 June 2012, at the 7th World Meeting of Families (promoted by the Catholic Church), it became the seat of the Holy Mass presided by Pope Benedict XVI in the presence of 1 million faithful.
The airport track has a length of 1 080 m for a width of 30; Initially its surface was in grass, but was paved in 1965 by the Aero Club.

The cache is near the track in a location where you can appreciate the arrival of planes that plan to land and is welcomed by a tender tree.
