Due to no response from the CO after the request to maintain or replace the cache, I am archiving it to, stop it showing on the listings and/or to create place for the geocaching community.

The Geocache Maintenance guideline explains a CO's responsibility towards checking and maintaining the cache when problems are reported.

FTF Honours

Congratulations to za pienaar family on the FTF!

Water - 71% of the Earth's surface is covered in it. 2.5% of it is fresh water. Of that 2.5%, 98.8% is frozen and pretty much inaccessible the polar ice caps. Less than 0.3% of all freshwater globally is available for use to the entire planet's population. Without water, we would not be able to live. Water is key to life. Lately, Johannesburg, along with the rest of South Africa, has been experiencing a debilitating drought, with reservoirs nationally dropping to very low levels. Despite the current long term outlook of a summer of good rain (2016/2017), thanks to a La Nina event shaping up, our current water situation is critical, and urgent attention needs to be directed towards water conversation. South Africa is regarded as a dry, arid and water stressed country, and sits approximately 600mm below the global annual average rainfall under normal circumstances. Average national rainfall is 492mm vs the global average of 985mm. Even if the drought is broken, water cannot be taken for granted, and thus the conservation of this life giving resource should always be a number one priority, especially given the rate that our population is increasing, and at which water is being polluted. We need to focus on the more sustainable use of water before it is too late. Save Water! It is a quick park and grab, but some stealth may be required depending on the time of day. Happy Hunting!
