This is my first attempt at art, I hope you enjoy it. This is #10 of the series. The others will follow over the next couple weeks and will take you to many out of the way corners of Shandaken
It is up to you , the geocache hunter, to decide to wait for the whole series or go for each as they get published. Can you guess the art will be?
For this puzzle you will need to find out a little about Shandaken and the GIS system (geographic information system) that I believe is in use in most counties. The GIS will let you look up who the owner is of a piece of land. A very important thing to know when placing a geocache! It can also be helpful in determining the best way to approach a cache that appears to have no access. Shandaken seems to have much State land that is only accessable via a 50' right of way. The GIS website will help you find that right of way.
For Shandaken you'll need to access the Ulster County GIS at http://ulstercountyny.gov/maps/parcel-viewer/ or in some cases the Greene County GIS at http://gis.greenegovernment.com/giswebmap.
The next thing to learn about GIS is that parcels of land all have a SBL number reference in addition to a street address.
To get the final coordinates, find the SBL number for the property at "7201 Route 28" in Ulster County. If you get it right you'll find the owner is "Shandaken, Town of". The SBL number will look something like A.BC-D-EF (A is the first number B is the second and so on). Once you get the numbers all you need are some math skills to get the final's coords!

I have rated the difficulty a 3.5 due to being a puzzle cache, learning the GIS skills, the math and the final hide. I would be willing to alter that based on feedback if folks think it is unfair. Also, I rated the terrain a 1.5 due to the hide's final resting spot.
