A multicache based on the old animal drinking trough at Newtimber Place.
This drinking trough was placed in memory of Lucy Gordon who lived at Newtimber Place in the later nineteenth century. The inscription says 'Blessed are the merciful for they shall obtain mercy.', Animals still use it as a shelter and probably as a drinking trough too when they are thirsty in hot weather.
On the side of the trough you will see the dates of Lucy Gordon's death as 'ab January cdef'. The cache can be found a short walk away at N50 54.(b-a)(d-c)(d-b) W000 11.(f-a-c)(a+c)(b-a-c). The GPS can take a while to settle down at this location so the hint might be helpful.
