Geocache Description:

The town of Twisp is believed to have taken it's name from a Native American word for wasp. It would not be good to be stung by this one.

Soaring 15 feet in the air over the town of Twisp a giant metal Yellow Jacket has taken its place as a new and prominent landmark. Described by its creater, metal craftsman Barry Stromberger, as "the most bizarre thing I've ever done".

Striking in scale and originality the sculpture is also impressive because it was fabricated almost entirely from old cars that were pulled out of the Methow River by the Methow Salmon Recovery Foundation as part of its mission of improving salmon habitat.
