Geocache Description:

The first Buddhist temple was built on this site in 1902, designed by Kunisoke Masumizo, a professional temple builder from Japan.

In 1919 the wooden temple was destroyed by a fire.

This temple, designed by T. Kurashi and William C. Hays Associates of San Francisco, was dedicated in 1920.  It was closed during the second world war during the internment of Japanese-Americans.  It was reopened after the war.  The congregation has since moved to a new temple in north Fresno.

Congratulations to Diablo Cachers for first to find.
