Aux alentours du puit se trouvent au n°35 plusieurs inscriptions sculptées, affirmant la foi des anciens propriétaires. A l'époque on estime à 15000 le nombre de protestants en Aunis. Vous vous trouvez dans l'ancien quartier protestant de Marsilly.
