4.23. Unarchiving a Geocache

The archiving of a geocache is intended to be a permanent status. That is why only community volunteer reviewers and Geocaching HQ staff have the capability to unarchive it. This is done only in rare circumstances and only if it meets the current Geocache Listing Guidelines.

If a geocache is archived by a reviewer or staff for lack of maintenance it will not be unarchived.

Geocache Description:

Please note that the cache is not located within the Alice Springs Desert Park, therefore, entry is NOT required to complete this cache.

Alice Springs and surround areas are home to some of the most unique animals species in Australia.  The species which inhabit the Central Australian Region are specifically adapted to thrive in the harsh desert and mountainous locations in and around the Alice Spring Region.

Many of the species which inhabit Central Australia are nocturnal, including the Greater Bilby, Rufus-hare wallaby, Stick-nest rats and the Curlew. Each of these species is currently under threat from human-induced pressures including urban development, feral and introduced animals (i.e. cats, foxes, wild dogs, camels, horses), poor farming practices and vehicle interactions.
