NO TOOLS NEEDED. PLEASE DON'T PRY OFF THE PENNIES WITH TOOLS OR MOVE HOST. PLEASE DON'T ATTEMPT TO ROTATE THE TOP OF THE HOST OFF. All you need is your bare hands and a little finesse. No brute force or gorilla moves needed to access the log container. If you can't figure it out, just claim the find, and avoid damaging the cache.
PLEASE DON'T TRY TO GLUE PENNIES BACK ON. We appreciate the help, but most glues don’t stick to copper. Typically, the pennies fall off and leave behind a sticky mess that makes it harder to repair. Just post a maintenance log, and we will bring a special marine adhesive to fix it.
Myakka River State Park is one of Florida's oldest and largest state parks popular for hiking, fishing, camping and wildlife observation. If you are going out on the trails, bring plenty of water, bug repellent and sunscreen. Cell phone coverage is unreliable, so a trail map and GPS are highly recommended. Depending on the season, the trails may be wet. To avoid an unpleasant wildlife encounter, watch where you put your hands and feet.
Park Entrance Fees as of January 2023 are:
• Vehicle (2-8 people): $6.00
• Vehicle (1 person): $4.00
• Extra passengers: $2.00
• Motorcycle: $4.00
• Pedestrians & bicyclists: $2.00
