Geocache Description:

Bloodroot is a member of the poppy family. It has solitary lobed leaves and a white solitary flower with 8 or more petals terminating on a leafless stalk. It flowers from late winter to early spring. It can be found in slope forest, upland hardwood forest, and hammocks of the eastern and central panhandle. Native Americans repelled insects, treated warts and made war paint and dyes from the sap.
