Geocache Description:

Chinquapin ( Castanea pumila) is a wild chestnut which is edible, IF you can get to the inside nut.  The nuts, inside the sharp barbed outer shell, are usually mature in early fall. The ground was covered when this cache was placed.  Why not try a few, IF you can get into the nut. 


This cache is located in Flint Creek Water Park, on Highway 29 in Wiggins, Mississippi, and an easy 35 miles north of the Mississippi Gulf Coast, offers water fun, camping and hiking for the whole family.
