The information board gives the story of forestry in the area as told by Jack Miller, one of the last sleeper cutters.
He would walk or ride his bike to an authorised area for cutting, and using a broad axe, maul and wedge, chalk line and groving axe, and cut around five or six sleepers per day.
The last sleeper he cut was at Rushworth, as a demonstration, at the Golden Guineas Festival in September 1978.
St. Paul's Anglican Church is still regularly used, and was open when we visited. It was build in 1869, and is Listed by the National Trust.
The small building next door is the Sunday School that was built a bit later in 1903.
