For a long time now, I've been thinking about bringing my long standing Swedish Breakfast series on a voyage from its usual haunts in Dublin and Belfast. So here we are...early February in Croydon will do nicely for an injection of bacon. Or whatever you want to eat.
Saturday, February 4th 2017 is the date of the inaugural Swedish Breakfast meetup abroad, in Croydon. With a cheap breakfast in the offing, its time to meet up... maybe I'll extract or share the odd hint or clue about awkward puzzles. So come join us early Saturday morning to fill your stomach, have your fill of geochat, and fill your mind with ideas for Saturday caching!
This event will take place on Saturday, February 4th 2017 from 900am - 1100am. That said, we have been known to stay a lot later than that in Dublin/Belfast and if anyone shows up after the official end I will of course keep the logbook open. We'll meet in the restaurant of Ikea at one of the tables. The restaurant opens at 900am and I will have my food and be seated at about 915. I'll nab some obvious tables somewhere in the restaurant, but if you don't bump into me outside pre-opening just look for the usual bunch of Geocaching miscreants.
There is however, absolutely no requirement to buy food or drink at the venue.
This will be an opportunity to help travel bugs and geocoins on their way as well as eat a hearty breakfast ready for your own Saturday caching adventures. Bring your own personal coin/bug selection for discovery and bring your questions about that annoying puzzle along too. You may (or may not) get help! If you have any plans for upcoming caches, this event would be a great time to discuss them with the group. If you're thinking of going to your first event, come along! If you're thinking of a days shopping, why not tie it in with an event cache??
As an aside: Here? What? An event HERE? Well, yes. The quick amongst you will note that this is edition #21, so it must do well. Why I don't honestly know, but it just seems to click with people. It's the most family friendly event out there, with creche onsite, easily accessible with cheap food and a quiet place to talk, and weather proof. It just works, please trust me on this and come along! 37 names in the logbook is the record!
To/from the event:
There is an absolutely incredible amount of parking in the Ikea carpark so car is strongly recommended. The Croydon tramlink has a stop at Ampere Way, and there are easy links through East Croydon station to just about anywhere.
