Geocache Description:

Emei Lake (峨眉湖) in Hsinchu county is one of the many picturesque places in Taiwan. It was built as a reservoir, but is no longer used as such. Now it is a beautiful, scenic little area with lots of greenery. The first thing one notices, is the big-massive-gigantic Buddha statue:

It is the tallest out of 4 such statues in Taiwan (72 meters) and is called a “Maitreya” buddha, which means “Buddha of the future”. In his right hand he holds the globe, in his left hand prayer beads, and a big, teddy bear smile on his face. Maybe he smiles, because he is happy that you came here and found the cache. Please bring your pen and feel free to post photos of the surrounding and log sheet, but please do not spoil anything about the cache container itself.
