Ents are strange beings in Middle Earth, a race of tree-like giants who care for the forest (and really don’t like orcs). Middle Earth’s creator, J.R.R. Tolkien, borrowed inspiration from northern European folklore.
The tree at ground zero is a little on the Ent-ish side, we think, though perhaps not quite enough to wake up just yet.
