Relaunching a classic. Didn’t want to leave it where the only people that enjoy the river at Rye Wilderness Park are the ones who are heading for the paddle only caches along the river. So this cache was placed to bring you land dwellers to a stream that the paddlers won't see unless they also go for a short hike down the trails. And trust me, this is worth the short walk from the canoe launch.
Hiking too fast might bring you a startling surprise, you could find yourself facing a cliff edge drop off down this pretty steep canyon wall into the stream below. Yup, right here in the middle of Rye, our own not-so-little Florida canyon!

This is a well camoed micro and doesn’t contain a pen so be sure to bring your own. This is riverside wilderness so be careful for any critters or insects that might be hanging out here, and always be cautious of our little three-leafed friend, poison ivy. Please rehide as securely as you found it so it can remain fun for the next explorers and so it doesn’t move out of position.
While you’re here enjoy the park, there’s a lot to see here and several other caches nearby. There is a playground area, hiking trails, public restrooms and lots of other amenities. Bring your camera, too.
Enjoy,
