Geocache Description:

The first two stages are just inside this historic cemetery, but the final is hidden elsewhere. If there is anyone near the first stages, please be considerate and come back at a different time.

If you have good eyesight, you can find the info you need from outside the fence.

Mound Cemetery was organized by 20 prominent farm and lumber families who knew this area as Brooklyn Township, named after a town in Michigan. The cemetery itself got its name from the burial mounds located on the southern shores of Palmer Lake.

The cemetery's first president was Asa Howe. Some of his descendants are on the Mound Cemetery board today. Asa was also the town postmaster and ran the general store which was located down the road on the corner of 69th and Osseo Road (Brooklyn Boulevard.)

Across the street from the store, on the northwest corner, stood Brooklyn Baptist Church, which was torn down after WWI. On a quiet Sunday morning, if you listen very closely, you can still hear the ringing of the bell from its tower (because it now hangs in the tower of Brooklyn United Methodist down the street.)

To find the final stage of this cache, you will need the date from the sign on the cemetery fence which is stage 1, and information from Asa and Abby's stone which is stage 2 (both the 1st and 2nd stage can be found at the 'First stage' coordinates).

Let the Year on the sign = AAAA
Let AAAA + 104 = BBBB
Let the day Asa was born = CC
Let CC x 2 = DD
Let DD - 15 = EE

Final: 45 0D.DEE
93 BB.BB8

In the FIRST version of this cache, which has been archived due to EXTREME critter muggling, you would have traveled past the site of Ase's store and the baptist church on the way to the final. But now, the final is much closer to the first two stages, among the eponymous mounds themselves.

The final is a medium sized prescription bottle. It has room for small trackables and trade items. It is NOT in a GIANT HOLE in a tree where it will be regularly muggled by tree rats.

Special thanks to the amazing Brooklyn51 for their insight, encouragement and help with the first incarnation of this cache, which was my first.

PS if you hear wind chimes while visiting the cemetery, it is probably just my grandmother saying hello. :)

Onthehunt250 was first to find on the original. Congrats to Kokohawk for being FTF on this one! :D
