Geocache Description:

At the listed coordinates, you will find a stone monument of the first elementary school ever built in Japan.

Japan's first elementary school was opened on May 21st, 1869 and originally named as Kamigyo 27 Elementary School (上京第二七番小学校).  Later it was renamed as Ryuuchi School (柳池校).   The amazing fact is that the school had been built before the official educational law was established in 1872, which tells why Kyoto has been leading education in Japan .   Now, it is Ryuuchi Jonior High School (柳池中学校).

The final magnetic container can be found at a distance of 10 meters and an azimuth angle of 342° from the monument.
