It's no longer A short drive or hike past the Bridal Veil Lumber Mill tool shed ( now the Post office ). Instead it overlooks the old Bridal Veil Box and Lumber Company Site, placed near a concrete footing, of what I think is an old cistern.
This area once held one of the first paper Mills in Oregon and was established in the 1886. A fire destroyed some of the mill buildings in 1936 and due to the depression and the lack of lumber on Larch Mountain the decision was made to close the Mill. In 1937 the land and buildings were sold to Specialty Woods Corporation later renamed Bridal Veil Lumber and Box company who produced wooden cheese boxes for Kraft Foods and ammunition boxes for the Military. The Box Company closed in 1960. Edit : The lower road area is closed and posted private property. The Benchmark (marked missing in 1948 is now on posted property) The hike down to the creek to view the Beautiful Bridal Veil Falls must take the trails from Bridal Veil park. Parking for the cache is on the old Highway, in a pullout and requires you to cross the road.
