Geocache Description:

A short walk in the park, but the twist is that you have to do this at night to find the right path to take to find the cache.

Welcome to the FIRST night cache in Myakka River State Park!

This run will take you along the river which is beautiful to see at night.

You have to simply follow the markers to find the final. It is only a little more than 2 tenths of a mile, so a short hike.

You will start a short ways from the grill near the pavilion and be on a path the whole time except for the final cache. No bushwhacking at all.

The White markers signify going straight or staying on the path that you're walking. The Yellow markers are for turns, and the Red marker is for the final location of the cache container with the logbook, swag etc. Once you find the Red marker look around for the cache nearby.

You have to be either a park camper or have an after hours pass along with your Annual Florida Park Pass (it comes FREE with your Annual Florida Park Pass, but you do need to request it from the ranger station) and display it in your vehicle to stay late after park closing hours to get this cache.

Be careful to watch where you walk, even though it is on the trail, there are tree stumps to watch out for. And the final has some thorny vines nearby so please wear closed toed shoes and pants to keep you from getting tore up by these.

Also since it is at night make sure to put on LOTS of bug spray as the mosquito's are out at night in droves!

This cache has been approved by the Park manager Steve Giguere.
