GOU Ziyi was a Tang Dynasty staesman famous for ending the An Shi Rebellion. He was reputedly one of the greatest generals in Chinese history and was immortalized in Chinese mythology as the God of Wealth and Happiness.
This Memorial Hall was build in 1917. Despite being designated a historical heritage site in 1999 the house continued being severely neglected until 2010 when restauration work began. Since Febuary 2012 the Memorial Hall is open to the public with many exhibits of historical interest on display.
