Close to the Tall Chimney. A historic landmark left from the old Pipeworks. Built in 1910 the tall chimney is the tallest structure in Swadlincote (said to be similar in height to Nelson's Column!), and was part of Wragg's Pipeworks factory.
In 1978 the factory was taken over by Hepworths. The chimney was threatened with demolition in the 1980s however it was kept and awarded Grade II listed status after a public and heritage organisation campaign.
