- Begin your quest in the parking lot at the posted coordinates. Take the paved trail northward (to the right from the parking lot) past the small picnic area until you reach a fork.
- Take the left fork and walk until you reach a bridge. Cross the bridge and turn right for the path. Perhaps pause to take a picture here. This area is very scenic and is one of our favorite spots.
- Follow the dirt path until you reach an intersection where you will turn left to follow the blue trail.
- In about 200ft you will reach a small bridge next to a large tree stump. This will let you know that you are heading in the correct direction.
- Follow the trail past the “Marry Me” tree. It will eventually turn to the right. Proceed up the slight hill. The lake will be on your left.
- When you reach the third bridge, you will be getting close to your destination.
- Look for the “eye of the needle” on the left side of the trail. Go 50ft past the needle and look for the tree marked by the STORM. The cache is in the pile of sticks behind the base of that tree.
You can sit at the scenic lookout (another good photo spot) just past the cache location while you sign or stamp the log. This trail has many muggles, so you are encouraged to move away from the hiding spot to sign/stamp the log and examine the cache contents.
The stamp and small ink pad are NOT SWAG. Please leave them in the container. Letterboxers may want to bring their own ink pad, especially if the temps are below freezing. Stamping the log is not required, but to claim the find a signature on the paper is needed.
The cache is placed within 15 feet of the trail according to park rules to prevent damage to the natural setting. Please stay near the path when searching. You are walking through nature, so mud, roots and elevation changes are to be expected. The cache is along the 1.25 mile Trillium Trail loop. The park is open from 8 a.m. to dusk, so no night caching.
