No matter how many problem-solving books you read or tutorials you complete, if you don't know what the problem is about (ie you cannot even get started!) then that problem is 'hard', 'impossible' or maybe even 'stupid'.
It is easier to solve a specific problem than a vague one. Problems come to us with varying amounts of important and useless information. Focusing on useless information distracts us and wastes time.
So, identify the key elements of the problem before you start looking for a solution then shift to the top and start working from there!
