Geocache Description:

Come celebrate a milestone you hit this calendar year, or share a story of the madness you went through to hit a milestone (LOL)...or both. Come share all the fun you have playing the jolly game of geocaching!

There have been a number of milestones this year:

  • rat root hit 31,000
  • Crafty nana hit 19,000 and then 20,000 at the MEGA
  • rat root and Crafty nana held the Hard Water Event at Chip Lake with over 80 participants...and a granddaughter born the same day
  • a few geocachers broke through the ice at the Hard Water Event...definitely madness!
  • Ninja Fairies hit 10,000, then a few more thousand after that... in fact three more thousand
  • Kiwibirdman joined the 10,000+ club and is the newest member in the Alberta Heavy Hitter Tribute caches
  • UBC Geograd hit 4,000 on January 1, while his son logged his first cache at the same New Year's Where's Waldo event
  • GeoGuider hit 4,000 at Strathcona Wilderness on her 9th geocaching anniversary and finished the Prairie Winds Adventure Trail
  • j0ckser hit 1,000 at Strathcona Wilderness on his 3rd geocaching anniversary and finished the Prairie Winds Adventure Trail
  • GeoGuider and j0ckser finished their Dates Hidden calendar TODAY with 2 finds for November 27th and an event for November 27th... finishing on a strong note
  • GeoGuider565 joined GG and J at Strathcona Wilderness for her 2200th find
  • TamarackGurl hit 2,000 in July
  • twilc33 hit 2,000 on GIFF night
  • WillowZilla and cailloupot both hit 1,000 and then 2,000
  • eyestone saga hit 1,000 this spring
  • poisonivy38 hit 1,000 this summer
  • For those still counting the 100s below 1,000 - Klondike Chris hit 300, 400, and 500, and CanadaRsmy hit 400, 500 and 600
  • LadyViper and Hiking Granny found Mission 4: Southern Bowl - an ape cache in Brazil WOW~!
  • Iamgrateful and Mike Fitz completed their JASMER challenge
  • Iamgrateful actually filled all her calendars: Jasmer, Fizzy, D/T, Dates Found, Dates Hidden...that's one very busy year in geocaching
  • fuzeebear, WillowZilla, and cailloupot also completed a year-long streak
  • Team SigShark&Janski has 96 consecutive months with an FTF and AMAZING favorite points for his tremendous caches... He's 7th in Canada and 1st outside Ontario and Quebec!
  • ratroot, craftynana, et al. organized another AMAZING Alberta MEGA
  • TamarackGurl organized CARW2016 and is hosting the Christmas party this year
  • boombear was hoping to hit 1,500 caches this year and made it
  • the 7UP! group (WillowZilla, NinjaFairies, cailloupot, Sigshark, fuzeebear, boombear, and Kiwibirdman) went north to Cold Lake and did a 24-hr geoart marathon finding over 150 FTFs and 354 caches
  • excited2explore has 2 milestones to celebrate this year: filled in all the calendar days with finds in May AND found 500 caches in one calendar day in October
  • cailloupot started caching on Saturday, 22 August 2015 and has found at least one cache every day since... his longest slump is 0 days long
  • Dinodude11 logged his first cache an FTF on a 5/5 hide - WOW! Not many people can say that!

And these are just the ones I know about. My apologies if I missed your milestone. Let me know if YOUR MILESTONE isn't listed here and I'd be thrilled to post it.

This is a crazy game we play...  Come celebrate your milestone this year! Or just come and enjoy some camaraderie... we're all pretty good at that!
