During the 1930's and 40's the ranchers along the Santa Cruz River partied very hearty and were famous throughout the area for their extensive entertaining. All the cowboy stars and crews and any other visitors of note were included. The beautiful ranch homes along this road (Santa Gertrudis Lane) and also the historic Canoa ranch itself were the settings for memorable parties that lasted days. So the valley got nicknamed the 'Santa Booze' Valley. This cache is placed here on the river in memory of those good old days.
