Centennial Park is a 18.42 hectare park, located in the 7500 block of Wallace Drive, in Saanichton. This community park was created in 1958 to commemorate the establishment of British Columbia as a Crown Colony 100 years earlier. On July 20, 1871 British Columbia became the sixth province to join Canada (confederated 1867). Since then, the park has grown in size and has a wide variety of features including: 2 sports fields (6 ball diamonds), 3 concessions (open seasonally), children's playground, 3 picnic shelters, caretaker's residence, lawn bowling green and club house, lacrosse box, 3 tennis courts, walking trails, natural areas, a field house (with public washrooms) and several Geocaches.
