Geocache Description:

Ararat is nestled between several mountain ranges, including Mount Langi Ghiran, Mount Cole, Mount Buangor, Ararat Hills and the Pyrenees Ranges. Cemetery Creek, the valley's main catchment runs through the north of the town while Green Hill lake is on the city's eastern fringe.

Green Hill Lake is an important feature for Ararat, it provides a great spot for picnicers, day trippers or people passing through. The camps site is ideal for caravans, although tents are not uncommon, and the playground is just that little bit different and ideal to wear out children.

The cache is located inside the grounds of Green Hill Lake. This can be reached from Ararat by foot (there is a walking track), bike or car. As you approach GZ you will realise that you need to proceed on foot for the final stretch. If water is present, you may want to leave this cache for a drier day.
