Geocache Description:

A simple park and short walk cache at a small Memorial in a little village a little off the beaten track.

You will need to provide your own writing implement and, possibly, tweezers.

 


The memorial is inscribed:-

ERECTED TO THE MEMORY OF THE MEN OF THIS PARISH, WHO GAVE THEIR LIVES FOR THEIR COUNTRY IN THE GREAT WAR, 1914 - 1919.

The names inscribed on the memorial are:-

  • Stanley Appleton, Royal Field Artillery
  • Claude Bell, 2nd Yorks
  • Albert Burdon, 2nd Yorks
  • Fredk R Ruddick, West Yorks
  • George Ruddick, 4th Yorks
  • John Richmond, West Yorks

In the 1911 Census the population consisted of 70 Males and 59 Females.
