Welcome to Dysart
Dysart is a purpose built mining town, settled in 1973. As with most towns in this area there is a Park at the entrance with a Mining Monument.
Here you will find a 'Euclid Crl 120 Hauler' which was commissioned in 1981 & operated at the near-by Norwich Park Mine until 1997. It had the capacity to carry 120 US/Tons of Coal.
Also you will find a "G" Class Aluminium Gondola Coal Wagon which had the capaicity to carry 53.8 tonnes & was the first wagon operated by Queensland Rail. The first Train consisted of 72 of these wagons & 3 Locomotives. These days the wagons carry approx 106 tons of coal each & a train can have 126 wagons & 3 Locomotives.
