Geocache Description:

Bring your own pen

This park marks the site of the Bellevue Hotel. The hotel was delicenced in the 1920s and demolished in the mid 1940s.

Around the turn of the century Bellevue was a lot more bustling than it is today. Nearby clay quarries, meatworks, a racecourse and the troop training grounds up at Blackboy Hill provided steady clientele and a train station (closed in the 60s) was located nearby to deliver people right to the hotel's doorstep.

Take a seat and imagine how this sleepy suburb may have looked in it's heyday.
