The 2016 Brrr Winter caching series is focused around historical locations in the Greater Holland area. In addition to giving you a chance to add another smiley to your stats and have a little Geowinterfun we've added a touch of learning. We hope you have fun caching and learning. Don't forget to grab the code for the bonus cache.
This general area was once referred to as Macatawa Park and was considered a resort area in the late 1800's. A passenger rail service called the Interurban ran through the area. Nearby are remnants of this railroad bed. Sanctuary Woods is home to some great fall hikes and some breathtaking views of Lake Michigan from high atop the dunes.
